GlimmerBlocker is an ad-blocker utility for Mac OS X that acts as a HTTP proxy, and integrates seamlessly with the system. As a result, the GlimmerBlocker filters are active systems wide, which makes it compatible with most web browsers, and even other applications that make use of the HTTP protocol.

For your convenience, GlimmerBlocker comes with an installer package that reduces the installation procedure to simply following on-screen instructions. At the same time, the developers also provide detailed uninstallation instructions.
