Finch is an unsophisticated yet very powerful application that enables you to effortlessly generate a public URL for any website hosted locally.

This way, you get to share new projects with your colleagues, to present concepts to clients, or to test the project on multiple devices, using virtually any web browser.

The Finch OS X application is the desktop client for the Finch online service, which means that you need to register for an account and input your credentials to make use of its functions.

You get to create a Finch account free of charge, but you must upgrade your subscription to get unlimited usage or more advanced functions, such as the possibility to password protect your websites.

The Finch app helps you connect your local web sites to the online service, and quickly generates a public URL that can be accessed by anyone. This way, you get to share the project with others or see how it looks on various devices.

Within the Finch main window, you get to set up as many sites as you like, as soon as you provide basic information, such as the local web server address and a nickname to help you recognize the project.

For your convenience, Finch places the active websites in its status bar menu: a simple mouse click will open them in your default web browser. However, to directly copy the URL to the clipboard, you will have to use the Finch main window.

Moreover, Finch can direct you to the web console to see live connection details, such as creation date, last request, total requests, total duration, and so on.
