Synchronization tool that can help you connect to any FTP server and transfers files to and from the remote location with minimal effort. #Synchronize folder #Sync to server #Connect FTP server #Synchronization #Sync #FTP
FavoriteFTP is a file transfer tool that offers you the possibility to synchronize files and folders between your Mac and an FTP server. The utility is based on user-defined profiles and provides support for one-way and two-way synchronization methods.
To be able to use the FavoriteFTP application, you must start by defining new synchronization profiles: choose the sync method, provide the necessary credentials to connect to the server, and select the local and remote server.
FavoriteFTP helps you upload new and changed files to the FTP server, download new and changed items from the FTP server, or keep both the local and the remote FTP folder in sync. You can opt to delete the files that are not present on either side.
However, you will have to trigger manually the synchronization procedure since the utility does not seem to integrate a scheduling tool.
Moreover, even though FavoriteFTP features a preview function that should allow you to compare the two folders before going ahead with the transfers, during our tests, the application crashed every time we tried to use it.
The advanced FavoriteFTP connection settings also offer you the option to specify the number of advanced concurrent connections, or what to do when the app encounters a conflict between two files.
You can create inclusion or exclusion filters, enable the fast sync function, choose to perform certain actions after successful uploads or downloads, and even configure the utility to send email notifications when the synchronization procedure completes.
To sum up, FavoriteFTP offers you the possibility to use one-way or two-way synchronization methods and upload or download files to and from FTP servers with minimal user interaction after the initial setup.
Nonetheless, some of the FavoriteFTP functions do not seem to work, such as the Preview tool, while others are nowhere to be found: on the project’s website, the developers mention a built-in scheduler that does not seem to be present in the app.
