Awa (formerly Enchat) For Mac

The Facebook Messenger platform offers you the possibility to chat with your friends on the desktop within a web browser, which might lead to clutter. Awa (formerly Enchat) is a standalone OS X app that offers you the possibility to access the service outside the browser.

Once you input your Facebook credentials, Awa will connect to your account, and you will be able to view past conversations or start new ones.

Moreover, you can receive alerts via the Notification Center whenever you get a new message, and see the unread count in the Awa Dock icon.

Note that Awa can handle both individual and group conversations and that you can share image or audio files, or documents with simple drag and drop actions. What’s more, you can use the built-in screenshot capturing tool to grab and share desktop images.

Awa comes with full-screen support for whenever you need to focus on your conversations, but the apps window can also be resized to occupy less space on your desktop.

When reduced to smaller dimensions, Awa automatically switches to the compact mode, which displays only the avatar image for each contact.

You get to resize the Awa window using your mouse, or by using keyboard combinations. For your convenience, Awa also features a hotkey for starting a new conversation.

Awa proposes an alternative solution for staying in touch with any of your Facebook contacts outside the browser.

The app brings all the instant messaging functions provided by the Facebook Messenger platform, provides support for stickers, and even offers you the possibility to include animated GIFs into your conversations.

Awa integrates file sharing capabilities without making you deal with complicated upload procedures: just drag and drop the file you want to share on top of the chat window.
