Duplicacy For Mac

Duplicacy is a backup tool that offers you the possibility to upload your files to multiple online storage solutions and even encrypt the data beforehand.

The Duplicacy utility works with local disks and SFTP servers, or you can connect to your Backblaze, Amazon S3, Dropbox, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure cloud accounts.

Duplicacy comes with an intuitive graphical user interface to help you handle the backup setup process but bear in mind that it can handle only one storage solution at a time. The same rule applies when it comes to the source repositories: Duplicacy allows you to set only one folder.

For your convenience, Duplicacy also allows you to schedule backups and offers to prune the snapshots on its own. Naturally, the utility provides multiple options in both cases, and you get to choose the ones that suit you best.

Once you start a scheduled backup task, Duplicacy will let you know how much time is left until the next backup, but the utility takes care of the process without any further user interaction.

However, the Duplicacy graphical user interface does not allow you to set multiple backup tasks at the same time, and you don’t have the option to save the configuration, which might lead to repetitive actions.

Since Duplicacy works with incremental backups after the initial full snapshot, the upload with resume to the changed files which will save resources.

The utility features file and block level deduplication functions and also enables you to encrypt the data before uploading.

Note that the restore procedure is also handled through the Duplicacy user interface: you get to scan for snapshots, view the file list, and select the items you want to restore.

Duplicacy logs everything by default, and you can even enable the verbose mode so you can quickly verify if all tasks have been performed successfully.

Duplicacy can be successfully used to backup repositories to various online storage solutions: you can apply exclusion rules to the source directory to make sure certain files or folders are not uploaded.

Duplicacy tries to make the procedure more efficient by using incremental backups and deduplication techniques, but can also encrypt the data to keep it safe.

Worth mentioning is that Duplicacy cannot work with multiple resources and storage locations at the same time and cannot save your configurations.
