Disco Dancer For Mac

Disco Dancer is a minimalist OS X status bar menu application that offers you the possibility to scrobble music to your Last.fm account from various sources. The app works with iTunes, Spotify, and the currently discontinued Rdio player.

Right off the bat, you must input your Last.fm credentials in the Disco Dancer Preferences window. The app will instantly connect with your account and via the Disco Dancer status bar menu, you can choose to open your profile in your default web browser.

Once everything is in place, just start listening to a track either in iTunes or within the Spotify desktop client, and Disco Dancer will automatically retrieve the track information and send it to your Last.fm account.

Note that via the Disco Dancer Preferences you must also specify the players for which you want to start scrobbling tracks. For your convenience, Disco Dancer can launch on its own whenever you start any of the supported music players.

Disco Dancer should also log your scrobbles when you are offline and upload the info to your Last.fm account when you connect to the internet, but during our test, the app seemed to retain details only about one track after going offline.

You have the possibility to mark the current song as favorite. Disco Dancer will add it to the list of preferred tracks associated with your Last.fm account, and you will get a confirmation message via the Notifications Center.

To sum up, Disco Dancer is an unobtrusive solution for scrobbling what you are listening to your Last.fm account without being bound to a particular music player. Moreover, Disco Dancer also offers you the possibility to add tracks to your favorites list.
