Copy For Mac

Cloud storage services are a very popular solution for backing up data because they also provide access to the information at any time, from virtually anywhere in the world. Copy is a small Mac app that can help you upload files to Barracuda Networks servers for backup, and choose to share them publicly or privately.

To be able to use Copy, you must register for a Copy account: you will receive 15GB cloud space for free. Of course, if you need more storage space, you can sign up for a Copy Pro account and pay a monthly subscription.

When you install the application, Copy will ask you to provide your account’s credentials and creates a folder on your disk (you can settle for the default location or specify a new one).

All the files that you place in the Copy folder will be automatically uploaded to your account, and you will be able to access them from a device that has the Copy client installed. At the same time, you can also access them via the Copy web interface: all you need is a web browser.

Copy generates a public link for each uploaded file, and you can easily copy it to your clipboard or share it with others via the file contextual menu.

For your convenience, Copy places a small menu in your status bar where you can see how much space you have left, open the Copy folder or website, view the recent changes, or pause the syncing process.

The same menu allows you to launch the app’s Preferences, where you can view details about your account, change the notifications location, view your shared folders (the feature makes it easy to send files to a specific user), or customize the app’s bandwidth usage.

Copy offers you the possibility to backup your files online, by using the Barracuda Networks servers. To keep everything safe, the data is encrypted both during the transfer and while in storage.

The app’s workflow and usage is quite familiar since its similar to other online backup solutions out there. On the other hand, the storage space available free of charge is quite generous: 15GB.
