Google Input Tools For Mac

The Google Input Tools for Chrome extension is a Google project that aims to deliver multiple language support when typing within the web browser. The add-on comes with virtual keyboards that help you type in more than 90 different languages.

To deploy the Google Input Tools extension to Chrome, you need to navigate to the appropriate Chrome Store entry and press the “Add to Chrome” button you can find on the page.

The add-on’s icon will be placed next to the address bar, and you get to use the associated menu to switch between keyboards. Note that Google Input Tools does not include any entries in the menu by default, so you have to navigate to the Options panel and make the necessary configurations right away.

All you have to do is navigate the virtual keyboards list and use the arrow button to send it to the list of Selected Input Tools. The same area allows you to rearrange the list or just remove items.

To activate a certain keyboard, just make the appropriate selection from the Google Input Tools menu. The change will take effect right away, so all you have to do is start typing.

From the Options panel you can also choose to see the keyboard on the screen and to sync the personal dictionary (you need to authorize the extension to connect to your Google account).

For your convenience, Google Input Tools also comes with keyboard support for activating the extension, selecting the next input tool, going back to the previous one, or just toggle the current input tool.
