Select the browser you want to use when clicking a link anywhere outside of a browser via a simple picker that pops up at your cursor's current location #Select Browser #Choose Browser #Browser Picker #Browser #Select #Picker
As we all know, macOS only allows you to have one default browser, which is used to open any type of web content. However, there are situations when you would prefer to open a link in a secondary browser, and you can only do this by copying the URL and pasting it in said browser’s address bar.
Browserosaurus is a fairly simple app designed to provide you with an alternative. When you click any link outside of a browser, it allows you to choose how you want it to be opened. It can be very helpful, and it is very easy to configure.
Many people use several browsers at a time, whether at work or at home. If, for instance, you use Firefox for something productive, and Chrome for entertainment, how you open a link depends on the type of content it directs you to.
Normally, the only way to handle this situation is to, for example, set Firefox as the default and open links suitable for Chrome by pasting the URL in the address bar manually. With Browserosaurus, you can just select the right browser every time you click a link.
First of all, you need to set Browserosaurus as your default browser, as this is the only way it can know when a link has been clicked. Afterward, a small pop-up will be displayed whenever you try to open a link; here, all your installed browsers will be listed.
You can select the browser you wish to use by either clicking it or pressing the hotkey it has been assigned. One of them can also be set as your favorite, making its icon bigger and easier to click. You can also open it by pressing Space.
Aside from letting you pick the right browser, the app also displays the URL at the top of your screen before it attempts to open it. This can be very helpful if you want to make sure you aren’t following a potentially dangerous link.
While it’s a fairly simple app, Browserosaurus is very impressive. If you want to have the option of selecting a browser when you click a link, it’s exactly what you need, so just go ahead and grab it.
