skadi For Mac

skadi is a minimalist image viewer that brings to the Mac the jumping to the previous or next picture in a folder behavior that is usually associated with the default Windows app for previewing image files.

To start using the skadi application, just drag and drop an image file from the directory you want to browse on top of its main window: the app will allow you to preview all supported image file formats included in that folder.

Note that if you drag and drop the folder icon on top of skadi, the viewer simply resets. Moreover, you cannot view images included in different folders, and you cannot open multiple windows for the viewer.

Within the skadi main window, you can manage the image files via a small toolbar placed in the bottom area, or you can toggle the toolbar visibility (by using the appropriate button, or by pressing the P key) and rely only on the hotkeys supported by default.

skadi allows you to jump to the next or previous image using the arrow keys, to scale the image to fit the window by pressing I, or to toggle the full screen view with the help of the F key.

You get to show the image in original size with O or 0, or zoom in or out with the help of the - and + keys.

skadi offers you the possibility to navigate your image folders just like you would do when using the default Windows image viewer. Instead of waiting for the images to load, skadi allows you to access all the photos in a certain directory almost instantly.

At the same time, skadi packs simple yet efficient hotkeys that can help you deal with the browsing tasks a lot faster.
