SRDx For Mac

SRDx is a Photoshop plug-in designed to help you clean up images featuring old photos that have been digitized. The plug-in integrates a dust and scratches detection system but also provides support for manually selecting the areas that require corrections.

To be able to use the SRDx plug-in you must make sure that the Photoshop CC host application is already deployed on your system. Since the SRDx archive comes as a package installer, the installation procedure is reduced to following the on-screen instructions.

As soon as you open a project in the Photoshop CC application, you will be able to see the LaserSoft Imaging folder and the SRDx plug-in entry in the Filter menu: you need to launch the SRDx panel to take advantage of its capabilities.

The SRDx plug-in automatically loads the image you are currently working on and evaluates which areas require corrections. In fact, the user gets to preview the original, review the marked defects, and see the optimized image in real time.

SRDx can save you a lot of tedious work by quickly detecting the areas of a digitized photo that might use some cleaning up. The plug-in is programmed to detect scratches and marks left by dust particles and employ the surrounding image information to remove them from the picture.

Worth mentioning is that SRDx does not rely on blurring or unsharping effects that might affect the picture quality. At the same time, even though the plug-in tries to identify the areas that need correcting on its own, the plug-in also integrates marking tools that are to be employed by the user.

Within the SRDx Settings area, you can choose to correct both dark and bright defects, adjust the detection intensity, change the marking color for the defects, or adjust the mask tool size and intensity.

The SRDx plug-in can be a great addition to your Photoshop CC application since it can considerably reduce the processing time when cleaning digitized photographs or film strips.
