Shooting RAW files has become a popular way of taking and storing pictures, especially amongst mirrorless and DSLR camera owners. Although the RAW file format offers more detailed images, it is difficult to share your favorite pictures in this format.

A RAW image file, or a digital negative, contains unprocessed data from your digital camera’s image sensor and it cannot be printed or edited with bitmap graphics editors. The selected picture is displayed in the main window while the right panel offers you all the tools you might need to make the desired adjustments. Raw Converter Pro uses “sophisticated” tone mapping technologies capable to provide rich details, colors and contrast. You can use over 30 different parameters to fine tune your photos. Thus, you can adjust the color balance and temperature, make tint adjustments, correct lens distortion, lighten the shadows or darken the highlights, reduce noise, make white and black point adjustments and more.

What is more, Raw Converter Pro comes with a histogram designed to graphically represent the tonal distribution in your digital image. All your image adjustments can be previewed in real time allowing you to preview the results even before converting the file.

On the bad side, Raw Converter Pro does not offer a list with all supported RAW image files and does not offer control over tone mapping. On top of that, you cannot make precise adjustments since all modifications are done my moving sliders and note by changing values.

Raw Converter Pro is a simple and lightweight raw image processor that might fulfill the needs of most amateur photographers. However, professional users should look elsewhere if they need a fully-featured and comprehensive RAW converter and processor.
