PixVeew is a lightweight application designed to help you view and organize your pictures, compress or convert them to JPEG, as well as print contact sheets using various layouts.

It is easy-to-use but does not include enough functions to replace your default image viewer. However, it is well suited for arranging and printing contact sheets, as well as managing image compression rates.

PixVeew is a handy utility because it lets you navigate through a picture directory using a minimalist interface, and displays each file’s name, resolution, size and compression rate.

You can scroll through them manually or start a slide show to have the app advance to the next picture on a preset interval. Unfortunately, it does not allow you to rename files, which would have been very useful in many scenarios.

Uncompressed photos are often too large to be stored in large numbers or be transferred online. PixVeew can help you reduce their size by converting them to JPEG, using a specified compression rate. Sadly, though, it is not possible to process multiple files at once.

The application can open and process files saved to JPEG, PNG, GIF or BMP, but many other popular image formats are not supported.

PixVeew is very well suited for this task, as you can determine how many rows and columns the images will be arranged in and whether or not they should be separated by borders.

The pictures can be sorted by name, size or pixel count, and folder names can be used as subheadings. Also, you can specify if file extension, size or dimensions should be displayed.
