Import, retouch and enhance your pictures with the help of this layer-based image editor that can process RAW photos and prepare them for printing #Image editor #RAW editor #Edit photo #Photo #Editor #Layer
Photoflow is a handy image editor designed to provide you with the necessary means to process high-quality photos from the moment they are transferred from your digital camera to when they are printed or exported.
It offers a decent array of tools, but the app is still in the early stages of development and is quite difficult to get to grips with.
The image preview is displayed in the center of the interface, with two additional panels on either side. On the left, you can view the histogram and the complete list of layers, while panel on the right allows you to fine-tune each layer’s settings. Sadly, this layout cannot be customized in any way.
Whenever you want to perform an adjustment, you need to add a new layer. There are numerous tools to choose from, all of them categorized depending on their purpose. They can help you adjust color levels, sharpen the image, reduce noise, crop, scale or rotate it, apply masks and much more.
However, no descriptions or instructions are provided, which can make it very difficult for less experienced users to figure out what each of them are for.
It is also possible to create layer groups and save them as presets for later use.
Unfortunately, working with Photoflow is quite difficult, as the processes of adding new photos and applying filters are not particularly intuitive.
The app does also not offer support for drag and drop, which makes importing new files unnecessarily complicated.
To conclude, while Photoflow can definitely be put to good use in the hands of professionals, novices may be better off turning to an app with a more user-friendly workflow. However, it does show promise, so it may be a good idea to keep an eye out for future releases.
