Perfect Face For Mac

Users who make a living out of taking photo portraits or editing them using a Mac know that having a capable image editor is the difference between obtaining average or stunning results.

If you're in the market for portrait enhancing utilities, you can give Perfect Face a spin, a macOS image editor specialized in helping you remove various blemishes such as moles, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, scars, and other similar skin flaws.

To open a photo you can either use the button in the top left corner of the main screen or drag and drop the image you want to edit onto Perfect Face's main window.

Unfortunately, as it is the case with other apps from Day One Software, you will not be able to open an image using Perfect Face by dragging it onto the app's dock icon.

Once you open a photo, you can go right ahead and remove any portrait imperfections by just clicking on them as the Perfect Face app will automatically detect the flaw you clicked using a uniquely designed algorithm for this particular task.

Perfect Face provides you with a bottom tool panel which enables you to customize the area size and threshold utilized by the blemish detection algorithm. With the help of the same panel, you can also choose a custom skin color if you do not get perfect looking results.

However, seeing that using the default values for the skin flaw removal algorithm (i.e. area size and threshold) and keeping the "Autodetect Color" enabled provided us with excellent results during our tests, you should be able to retouch any portrait without having to touch any of the pre-defined settings.

As a bonus, Perfect Face will also help you apply a decent number of image effects on to the currently loaded portrait, with Fade, Noir, Tonal and Transfer being probably the most appropriate for portrait retouching tasks.

While Perfect Face worked exemplary during our test and we haven't been able to find any apparent bugs or flaws, we think that an option to help you quickly compare the original and the resulting photo would be a great addition to its feature list.

Having the Perfect Face macOS app in your toolbox is a good idea if you need to edit portraits frequently using your Mac.

Moreover, Perfect Face will also make sure that your photos' EXIF information will remain untouched and that you can undo or redo any action using the two strategically placed buttons on the sides of the main screen.
