A simple photo leaves most of the scene uncaptured, but a panorama can show viewers everything that can be seen from that particular spot.

PanoramaStudio is an app intended to streamline and semi-automate the process of stitching images into panoramas. Assuming the images were captured correctly, it should only be a matter of importing them and following a series of simple steps.

Naturally, there needs to be some overlap between your images so that the app can create and use control points to align them. Any matching feature can serve as a control point, and they are customizable.

In the best-case scenario, you can just import your images and click Align. They will be stitched together automatically, and you can then preview the result in a 2D or 3D view. Various other image adjustments are also made while the panorama is processed.

If manual adjustments are necessary, you can see to them before rendering the panorama. You can customize exposure correction and white balance, straighten the horizon, fine-tune image alignment, add masks to ignore certain areas, or tweak camera settings.

The real-time preview makes it easy to keep track of your changes, with the 3D view in particular being a nice touch.

After cropping and rendering the final panorama, some post-processing steps become available. You can tweak light and color parameters, tone curve, or sharpness, as well as resize the image if necessary.

The simplest way to save your work is as an image file, but an interactive HTML panorama lets you view it as intended, and it can be embedded into a website fairly easily.

PanoramaStudio is a great app, and one I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a specialized panorama creator. It automates much of the process, which means that even a complete beginner can use it with little effort.
