Mosaic Shapes For Mac

Mosaic Shapes is a small application that focuses on a single task: giving mosaic effects to your image files in order to transform them into more or less abstract artworks.

The Mosaic Shapes app allows you to experiment with the effect and preview the output before exporting the result to a separate file. Note that the original picture will not be altered.

The Mosaic Shapes processor is able to work with PNG and JPEG image files but note that you need to go through the app’s Open menu to select the ones you wish to import. The original image will be displayed in the app’s main window almost instantly.

To work on the image, you need to open the Settings panel and adjust the effect’s parameters: you can adjust the abstraction level, the mosaic shape (diamond or grid) and the color pattern that should be used (colorful or normal).

Note that the conversion process can be canceled at any time. You are able to adjust the input and output image resolution, blend the mosaic effect, or split the mosaic in different modes.

The image created by the Mosaic Shapes can be previewed in the app’s main window, but keep in mind that you don’t have the option to compare it to the original within the app.

Once you are satisfied with the result, Mosaic Shapes allows you to save the output to a location of your choice, using one of the following formats: JPEG, OpenEXR, PDF, PNG, or TIFF.

Depending on your choice you get to adjust the image quality, apply filters (reduce file size, black and white, blue or gray tone, lightness increase or decrease, and more) or encrypt the document, or use different compression methods (LZW, JPEG, or Packbits).
