Messi enables users to perform pixel precise screen measurements with ease by placing and a resizable and configurable ruler on your screen. However, you cannot open multiple Messi windows at the same time, and your settings are not preserved between sessions.

The Messi application comes with a somewhat intuitive workflow and can be used right out of the box without any problems. The app is using the yellow and black color palette by default, and you can readily resize the original ruler window with simple drag and drop actions.

Moreover, you get to move around the ruler window with the help of the arrow keys, both vertically and horizontally. As a result, your measurements will have a high accuracy level.

Worth mentioning is that you cannot rotate the ruler window in any way, so you don’t have the possibility to directly measure oblique lines. On the other hand, you can employ Messi measurements and mathematical formulas to determine their value.

Within the Messi Preferences window, you can modify the opacity level for the ruler window and choose to have it always on top of all other apps. The utility offers you the possibility to place rulers on each side of its main window, and you can choose to have the markings centered and/or reversed.

You can change both the background and marking colors (Black, White, Red, or Yellow). Naturally, you have to make sure that you are using different colors for each setting to be able to distinguish the ruler markings.

Messi is a great tool to have around if you need to make screen measurements, but keep in mind that you cannot open more than one ruler window, and you cannot save the preferences adjustments between sessions.
