Light EQ For Mac

Light EQ is a minimalist OS X application that offers you the possibility to adjust the exposure level for any photo in no time. As a result, both the lighting and the contrast levels are improved, and the image looks more luminous.

The Light EQ user interface is represented by a single window where you get to load the image you want to fix: the app comes with drag and drop support for importing the photos, or you can use the Finder menu.

Even though the Light EQ developers do not specify, during our tests, we have noticed that the application is able to import only images that come in the JPG file format. The same standard is used when exporting the processed photos, and you also get to adjust the output quality.

Once you open an image within the Light EQ main window, the utility automatically fixes the photo by using a built-in algorithm, and you get to preview the result.

By pressing a small button placed in the bottom area of the Light EQ window, you get to preview the original image, while a simple slider bar allows you to adjust the lighting level until you are satisfied with the result.

Worth mentioning is that Light EQ will increase the exposure level, correct uneven lighting, increase the contrast, and selectively brighten certain dark areas included in the photos without any user interaction.

To sum up, Light EQ offers you the possibility to fix photos that are too dark with a simple drag and drop movement. However, you have very limited control over the contrast and lighting adjustment, and the utility does not support batch processing.
