Icon Plus offers you the possibility to quickly create custom icon designs based on your own photos or images. The best part is that Icon Plus can generate icon collections that include all the sizes needed when developing apps for the iOS or macOS.

Within the Icon Plus user interface, you get to preview the icon design, while all the adjustments can be performed via three simple tabs: design, icon, and text.

The editing is resumed to checking boxes, moving slider bars, or modifying text fields, and the effects are visible in real time.

Right off the bat, you must decide on the overall icon appearance by specifying if you want a transparent background or not, the gradient colors, the corner curvature, and if you want to use a stroke or shadows.

The next step is to select the image you want to employ for your icon, set the vertical or horizontal offset, rotate the icon, or adjust the shadow effects.

If you decide to combine the photo with a text message, most of these options apply to the text element, and you also get to customize the font style.

The best part is that Icon Plus allows you to save the configuration as a profile that can be used again at a later time, so you can produce similar results without having to make all the adjustments all over again.

When you are satisfied with the icon’s appearance, navigate to the Icon Plus Output tab and choose if you want to create an iOS or an macOS icon set.

Note that you can also manually select the sizes you want to include, the output file format (PNG, JPG, TIFF, GIF, or BMP), or the image quality (if you opt for the JPG format).

The Icon Plus utility proves to be very useful for inexperienced graphic designers, but keep in mind that the palette of customization options is not very large and could certainly use some improvements. To name a few, you might want to add more than one text string at the same time or simply rotate the text.
