Photo collages are a great way to organize your family or holiday pictures and create original albums. Diptic is a streamlined application that can help you make your own collages in no time.

Diptic is able to import images included in your iPhoto or Aperture libraries via the Media section, or you can simply drag and drop the files on top of the currently selected layout.

All functions provided by the Diptic app are available in its main window, so finding your way around should not be too hard. The main area displays the collage frame where you get to import various images, while the left side is reserved for the customization tools.

Right off the bat, you must decide wich layout you want to use for your collage: Diptic provides over 75 different models and you can preview a small thumbnail for each one in the Layout panel.

Once you have imported the images you want to use in your collage, Diptic allows you to scale, rotate or flip the photos. At the same time, you can adjust the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels or apply various filters.

Diptic offers you the possibility to include captions in your projects so you can easily add text boxes and adjust the message font, alignment, scale or position. Moreover, the application includes various text styles that can be included in your albums.

Last but not least, Diptic enables you to apply borders to your collages and adjust the overall brightness contrast, hue, saturation, aspect ratio and more. When you are satisfied with the result, you can export the project to a JPG or PNG file or share it on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr or by using other channels.

Diptic is a great tool if you need to create photo collages without too much hustle: the application provides a plethora of personalization options, yet going through the available tools is fairly straightforward. Noteworthy is that the application is able to produce high resolution results: the maximum size is 3072x3072.
