Color Picker Pro is a simple status bar utility that enables you to instantly see the characteristics and code for any color present on your desktop.

The tool proves to be very useful for designers that don’t want to waste time searching for color codes when the perfect shade is already on the screen.

On launch, Color Picker Pro will place a menulet in the status bar and you get to toggle the visibility of the Color Picker Pro main panel with a simple mouse click.

When active, the Color Picker Pro panel displays the current location of your mouse in a zooming area and shows the color code for the currently selected pixel.

The Color Picker Pro also provides information about the absolute cursor position on the screen, and details about the hue, saturation, and brightness of the currently selected color.

Note that you can copy the color code to your clipboard with a simple hotkey (Shift + Command + P), and Color Picker Pro will retain the latest 5 copied colors.

By default, Color Picker Pro displays the color code in HEX format, but via the app’s Preferences window you can change the default color format to RGB, HEX2, CMYK, UIColor, NSColor, or new UIColor.

For your convenience, Color Picker Pro exemplifies each color code so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

The same area allows you to toggle the visibility of the color preview area in the menu bar, or to change the default hotkey for copying the color code to the clipboard.
