Add AI-related actions to Shortcuts, which can be integrated into more complex workflows and rely on your OpenAI API key to be run locally #AI Shortcuts #ChatGPT Shortcuts #Generate Image #AI #ChatGPT #Shortcuts
AI is only useful when it is accessible, and so we need to find ways to seamlessly integrate it into our workflows. Apple’s Shortcuts utility has become a very popular way to automate various actions, which makes adding AI functionality to the mix an obvious next step.
AI Actions allows you to add ChatGPT text prompts and DALL·E 2 image generation prompts to your shortcuts. It uses your OpenAI API key, which is only stored locally, which means you can share your shortcuts with others without giving out your key. They will then be able to use their own API keys to run the shortcut.
Once you’ve launched the app, you’ll need to head to its settings and set your API key. Then, open the Shortcuts app, create a new shortcut or open an existing one, and select AI actions from the Apps tab. There are two functions you can use: one to provide a text prompt to ChatGPT, and one to generate an image.
These actions can be integrated into any shortcut, and there are a few settings you can customize for each. You can, for instance, select the preferred ChatGPT model, tweak some parameters, or set the generated image resolution.
