Play the classic version of Minesweeper, which used to be included in Windows, on your Mac, and relax while finding the mines hidden on the board. #Play Minesweeper #Minesweeper Game #Puzzle Game #Minesweeper #Puzzle #Mine
Minesweeper was popularized by Microsoft after the company included it in every Windows version from 3.1 up to Windows 8, when it was finally removed. It is a very simple yet oddly addictive game that requires you to clear a tile field without clicking on any of the mines that are hidden below.
The Classic Minesweeper recreates the most recognizable version of the game, which remained pretty much unchanged until the release of Windows Vista. It is very easy to learn, and it comes with three difficulty levels, but, unfortunately, it lacks a custom mode.
It all very simple. After starting the game, you will need to click on a tile. There is a small chance of hitting a mine, but you have no way of knowing where they are yet, so just restart the game if you are so incredibly unlucky.
If you've clicked on an empty tile, though, an area should be cleared and some numbers will be displayed around the remaining tiles. These numbers indicate how many mines each empty tile is in contact with, and they should help you figure out where the rest of them are.
When you're sure that a tile has a mine under it, go ahead and mark it with a right-click. Once you've marked all the mines and haven't clicked any by accident, the game is over.
The original Windows version of the game also allowed users to create a custom board that included any number of tiles and mines. It made it possible to generate absurdly difficult or ridiculously easy games, but the macOS version doesn't include this feature.
Also, you cannot separate high scores based on who is playing at the moment, so you cannot compare your best times with your friends if you play from the same device.
Even if you had never heard of this game before, I recommend that you try it out. It is a lot more fun than it looks at first, and it's definitely better than the bloated monstrosity Microsoft has in its store. You might want to turn off the sound effects though, as they can get annoying after a while.
