Hop is a tiny game that has no back story or complicated controls, but can help you relax just the same. You can play the game with or without the sound effects, and you prove to be your own worst enemy.

Within the Hop main window, you get to see the star of the game, a cute yellow block that gets to jump around. By default, Hop launches in fullscreen, but you can toggle to window mode by using the Command + F keyboard combination.

However, the Hop window is not resizable, so it will still cover your entire screen. This means that you cannot play the game in a corner of your screen while still being able to glance to other apps.

Via the Hop main panel you get to enable or disable the sound effects, and you can pause the game by pressing the Escape key.

The goal of the Hop game is to guide the yellow block when jumping stairs of various colors by making him go right or left. You can do that by using the arrow keys, or with the help of your mouse.

The gameplay can be quite challenging because the steps come toward you at various speeds, and you must make sure that you don’t stay behind or jump in the wrong direction. A single wrong step is enough to make you start all over again.

Hop will count how many steps you have managed to jump in real time, and you get to see the counter in the top left corner of the game’s main window. At the same time, you get to see the value, together with your best score after each game.

Bottom line, your success is determined by your dexterity: focus on the gameplay and you will surely manage to get past your best performance again and again.
