Korean FlashCards For Mac

Korean FlashCards is an easy to use macOS application designed to help you learn the basic Korean vocabulary through different exercises. The application comes with numerous downloadable wordfiles (groups of related words), the ability to create custom wordfiles and to take tests based on any wordfile.

Using Korean FlashCards is quite straightforward after a while. The user interface consists of a left pane where you can access the main menu, the exercises, wordfiles and the options. What’s more, the bottom bar displays the currently loaded wordfile and other information.

There are 4 types of exercises: “Word” in which you are given a Korean word and must find the English translation, “Meaning” in which you must select the correct Korean translation of a given English word, “Spelling” where you must translate an English word and type the word using a built-in Korean keyboard. Finally, the “Listening” module lets you play native pronunciations of Korean words and choose the right English translation.

You have a few options regarding the tests that you can configure. Firstly, you can choose to include all words or only 10 in the wordfile, to select the review mode (learning list, completed or all words), to review progressively or randomize word order and to choose which type of exercises to be included.

As mentioned in the beginning, you can create your own wordfiles. This can be done by specifying the wordfile name, adding the words and meanings, selecting the word mode and even speaking the pronunciations. After you create a wordfile, you can easily load and use it in your tests.
