Trailer For Mac

Trailer enables you to connect with your GitHub account and receive alerts related to any of your repositories from the comfort of your status bar, by using the macOS Notification Center. The utility organizes your alerts by category, and periodically checks for new events.

At first launch, Trailer prompts you for the GitHub access token which is necessary for connecting the app to your account. Just press the “Create a GitHub personal access token” button and Trailer will open the appropriate web page in your default web browser.

Once the connection is established, Trailer automatically checks for alerts and creates separate status bar menus for each type of notification.

Trailer offers you the possibility to monitor pull request or other related issues for your own projects, the ones in which you participated, or the merged or closed projects.

Moreover, the Trailer status bar menus also integrate a simple search box that offers you the possibility to filter the messages. Since the app displays alerts for all types of events, such as comments, merges, or simple status updates, the messages list can get quite long.

Within the Trailer Preferences window, you get to see the list of watched repositories and decide which types of alerts you want to view in each case. The same area enables you to decide how you wish to see the messages, the sorting methods applied by default, how should Trailer deal with the messages history, and so on.

Note that all these customization options are limited to the Trailer application. Since the utility is read only, your GitHub account will not be affected in any way.
