SimPholders For Mac

SimPholders is a simple utility designed to help developers improve their workflow by providing status bar access to previous iOS, watchOS, or tvOS simulations. The service can launch the Simulator, copy the sandbox path to the clipboard, and much more.

Once installed, SimPholders will place a menulet in your status bar and scan your system for recently used Xcode Simulator instances. SimPholders can retain the three recently modified apps, regardless if you are developing for iOS, tvOS, or watchOS.

Within the main menu, if you click on an application entry, the app will automatically open the containing folder in the Finder, providing quick access to the project’s resources.

On the other hand, if you press the Command key before clicking with your mouse, SimPholders will launch the projects in the Simulator directly, without having to launch the Xcode app and building the project.

SimPholders also includes additional keyboard combinations that enable you to copy the sandbox path to your clipboard (Shift + Click), to see the app groups container (Command + Option + Click), to reset the storage data (Option + Click), or to uninstall the app from the Simulator (Control + Click).

Note that the some of these hotkeys have different effects for the Simulator entries: the Option + Click combination offers you the possibility to add photos while the Control + Click command resets both the content and the Simulator settings.

To sum up, SimPholders enables you to quickly access and test iOS, watchOS, or tvOS projects you are currently working on.

SimPholders lists three of the most recently modified Xcode Simulator projects and enables you to either launch them in the Simulator, or to quickly open their resources folders. Note that the SimPholders app also works with FUSE simulators.
