Redis.app For Mac

Redis.app provides a straightforward solution for deploying the Redis data structure store on your Mac, without manually compiling the source.

The Redis.app utility also renders quick access to the Redis CLI within the Terminal app and to the server's log file.

The Redis.app utility comes bundled with Redis binaries, so all you have to do is move it to the Applications directory, launch the app, and you will get instant access to a Redis server.

For your convenience, the Redis.app resides in the status bar menu, out of your way yet easily accessible.

Within the menubar, you can see the current version of the Redis binary and the Redis.app build number, together with details about the port used by the server.

The same area offers you the possibility to quickly open the Redis CLI in a Terminal window. Here you can input commands to control the key-value store: you can access the Redis online tutorial to learn more about what you can do.

Moreover, you can open the logs directory in a Finder window. The included Redis.log file contains details about the server activity and can be viewed in a text editor.

Note that via the Terminal you can also add the Redis binaries that came with the Redis.app to your Path. To do so, you must modify your ~/.bash_profile using the following command: PATH="/Applications/Redis.app/Contents/Resources/Vendor/redis/bin:$PATH"
