Use custom style standards when writing code in Objective-C or choose to apply the rules voted by other developers on StackOverflow on in the objclean.com survey #Clean Objective-C #Coding standard #Objective-C coding standard #Objective-C #Coding #Standard
Objective-Clean offers Objective-C developers the possibility to apply custom coding style standards when working in Xcode.
The Objective-Clean application can download predefined StyleSettings.plist files that reflect the most popular choices on StackOverflow or in the objclean.com survey, or you can choose to make your own.
Right off the bat, within the Objective-Clean main window, you must decide which coding style configuration file you want to use.
If you go for the predefined ones, the StyleSettings.plist files will be automatically downloaded to the Downloads directory, and you must move them to the respective Objective-C project folder.
However, you can also choose to be directed to the objclean.com survey page: once you answer the included 40 questions, you will be able to download a configuration file that reflects your choices.
You can also choose to compare your answers with the ones given by the other fellow developers that have completed the survey.
To use the Objective-Clean app to clean up your projects, load the appropriate .xcodeproj by dragging and dropping the file on top of the app’s main window, and place the custom StyleSettings.plist file in the project folder.
Once you press the Install Run Script button in the Objective-Clean main window, all the components will be moved to the correct location, and all you have to do is run the project in Xcode.
Objective-Clean can use custom configuration files to help you force Xcode to follow your rules when it comes to writing Objective-C code. However, you will need to apply the custom configuration for each project separately.
Nonetheless, when everything is in place, Objective-Clean will make Xcode to display a build error whenever any of the defined rules is violated.
What's new in Objective-Clean 1.6.3:
- Made a fix to support _Nullable and _Nonnull in the method signature. Those keywords will won't affect your spacing rules anymore.
- Also added a new icon to the app.
