Markoff For Mac

Markoff offers you the possibility to preview how will your Markdown documents look in an HTML environment with minimal effort. The utility automatically refreshes the rendering once you save the file and can easily integrate with your default Markdown editor.

The Markoff user interface is represented by the document window where you get to preview the Markdown content. Nonetheless, Markoff can open multiple files at the same time, so you get to work on more than one project concomitantly.

During our test, we have noticed that Markoff is not able to open files with the .m or .md extension, yet it works great when dealing with .txt files that include Markdown syntax.

Note that in the bottom area of the Markoff window you can see word and characters counters, together with a button that helps you send the document to the default Markdown editor.

If there are multiple text editing apps installed on your Mac, you can select the one you want to use by default via the Markoff Preferences window.

You can also send the Markdown document to the editor by using the keyboard combination that is assigned by default: Command + E. If you are modifying the file content, as soon as you are saving the changes, Markoff will render them in the preview window.

Worth mentioning is that Markoff does not come with any customization options: you cannot modify the interface appearance or change the default hotkeys.

To sum up, Markoff offers you the possibility to quickly preview documents that use the Markdown syntax as soon as you save the files.

The Markoff’s appearance cannot be changed in any way as there are no customization options, and the app seems to be able to open only .txt files.
