View and edit iOS and macOS app localizations in a side by side table, making it easy to see missing translations and make modifications. #Localization Editor #App Localization #Translation Editor #Localization #Translation #Translate
Managing app localizations can be quite confusing, what with keeping track of translations across multiple languages and figuring out if anything is missing. Being able to see everything on one screen would make it easy to compare localizations, but there’s no easy way to do so.
That’s exactly what the open-source Localization Editor aims to offer. It lets you load all translations for your macOS and iOS apps in a side by side view, where you can easily edit them and see if anything is amiss. You can filter them and quickly save changes to all of them.
To start with, you just need to point the app to the folder that contains all your localization files. They are shown in a table, sorted by their key, and you can edit text directly or even add new keys.
If you want to find something in particular, you can use the search function. There’s also a filter that highlights missing translations, so you don’t even need to scan the whole document for them.
When you change any translation or add something new, the modifications are instantly saved to their respective files. As long as you know the languages, or you have a translation tool handy, you can get through multiple localizations in no time.
The UI is minimalistic and easy to understand, with no unnecessary distractions. It’s made for developers, and it works great.
Localization Editor is just what you need if you’re having trouble with translating your apps, or you just need to make sure nothing is missing. It makes an arduous task a lot simpler, it doesn’t cost a dime, and it’s fully open-source. It really is a great app for any developer.
