Create a local HTTP server in no time and gain access to a dummy backend that will allow you to test new projects even if you lack connectivity #HTTP server #Create server #Local server #HTTP #Server #Local
Jeeves is a minimalist OS X tool designed to help developers test projects on a local server, hence eliminating the need to connect to network resources.
The utility resides in your status bar and offers you the possibility to feed your project directly to the server. The local host address will be automatically opened in your default web browser.
Upon launch, Jeeves will place a small menulet in your status bar that provides quick access to the apps main functions: to open a certain resources folder, and to stop the server. Jeeves will also display the name of the currently opened resources folder.
If everything runs smoothly, Jeeves will open your local host address in your default web browser, and you should be able to view the project that you are working on. Note that you must use the classic index.html notation for Jeeves to recognize the content in the resources folder.
The Jeeves application can also recognize the commands placed in the Jeeves.json file if you are going to add it to your resources folder. This way you can choose to employ both POST and HTTP methods, and so on.
To get extensive details on the supported commands, make sure to visit the developer's support page. At the moment, Jeeves can deal with routes requests configurations, with the resources path for responses, or with the resources content type.
Jeeves offers you the possibility to test projects that are still in development using a dummy backend, with the help of a local HTTP server.
The app's intuitive workflow makes it easy to use by inexperienced developers while seasoned users can employ JSON commands to configure requests and how they get responses.
What's new in Jeeves 1.1:
