Create HTTP web service requests, save them for future use and take advantage of a script library to modify requests before they are submitted, with this handy tool. #Web services client #Save request #Script library #Web services #Request #Client
HaTTiP is a straightforward application designed to help you manage web service requests. It allows you to create a library of scripts that can be used to modify outgoing data, and each item can be saved to a separate file.
Essentially, all you need to do after launching the application is choose a method, specify a URL, insert headers, and then send your request.
HaTTiP can display the request and response bodies in plain text or formatted and color-coded, so as to make them easier to read and understand.
It is possible to create and execute pre-processing scripts that can alter the outgoing request dynamically. They are all stored in the script library and can be easily called up at any time.
In order to avoid having to write the same request multiple times, you can save it to a separate file and reuse it whenever necessary. You can even work with several documents at once, as multiple instances of the application can be executed at the same time.
HaTTiP aims to keep things as simple as possible, and its visual design reflects this. The main window is split into two panels, one for inputting the details of your request and the other for viewing the response.
The script library and script editor are displayed in separate windows, and their design is just as basic. It would help, however, if these modules could be concentrated into a single window, so as to avoid cluttering your desktop.
Overall, HaTTiP is a useful HTTP web services client that allows you to create and manage requests, as well as dynamically modify them with the help of previously written scripts.
What's new in HaTTiP 1.3:
- Clearing the request body no longer removes the Content-Type header.
- Updated to a thicker, easier-to-read font.
- Now requires macOS 10.11 or higher.
- Complex content-type headers no longer confuse the body formatter.
