Gitscout For Mac

Gitscout is a neat macOS application that helps you establish a connection with your GitHub account and enables you to view and manage issues related to your projects.

Note that you also have to register for a Gitscout account (the process is handled through the application) and you also need to provide your GitHub credentials and allow the app to manage your GitHub account.

The Gitscout user interface is organized in three different columns, and you get to quickly see the list of GitHub repositories and projects, the list of issues associated with a project, and the comments posted for each issue.

Gitscout integrates sorting capabilities and allows you to organize the entries by assignee, label, milestone, or author. The app also includes custom filters that can help you find all the issues assigned to you, the ones that are open or closed, the recently updated, or the newest.

For your convenience, Gitscout allows you to save issues to make them more easy to find, allows you to save drafts, and helps you keep track of notifications. Of course, you can disable notifications altogether via the Gitscout Preferences.

Within the Gitscout GUI you can also create new issue entries for any of your projects: just provide a title and leave a comment. You can attach a document, add a label, set a milestone, or assign it to a particular member of your team (or to multiple developers).

Gitscout allows you to preview your post before submitting the issue, and you can easily save your post as a draft. To avoid unnecessary clutter, you can choose via the Gitscout Preferences which projects you want to see for each repository.

All the new issues posts will be associated with your GitHub account, and the same credentials are used when posting new comments. Note that you can also attach image files or other documents to your posts.

Bottom line, Gitscout brings to the table a beautiful space where you get to manage your GitHub issues and communicate with other members of your team. You get to exchange ideas, assign tasks, receive notifications, and so on.
