Fuel For Mac

Fuel is a graphical user interface designed to work with the Fossil SCM tool and help users deal with common tasks without having to use the command line. The utility comes with a well-organized design and provides support for common task related to the repository and file management.

Via the Fuel menus you can easily open or clone a Fossil repository: either direct the app to the respective directory or provide the URL to a repository hosted locally or online. Just provide your credentials, the HTTP proxy if you use one, and specify the output location.

If there is no workspace detected, Fuel offers to create one on its own, and you will be able to see it in the app’s main window. Within the repository workspace, you have the possibility to see the included files, branches, tags or stashes.

Moreover, you also get to see the Fossil repository in a built-in web browser, placed in the bottom area of the app’s main window. The utility includes buttons for routine tasks, such as adding, renaming, or removing files, or reverting to the previous version.

Note that Fuel is only a GUI front-end for the Fossil tool, so you must make sure that you have the SCM utility installed on your system beforehand. Moreover, via the Fuel Preferences window, you must provide the path to the Fossil binary.

Once everything is in place, Fuel enables you to commit or update your workspace, to push or pull data, to create branches or tags, or to stash changes.

The best part is that you get to deal with all this by pressing buttons and selecting menus, instead of struggling to use the correct command line syntax.
