Code sign Windows applications directly from your Mac, using simple drag and drop, thus avoiding the trouble of switching to a Windows PC or booting up a VM just for this step #Sign Windows EXE #Sign Windows Application #Code Signing #Sign #Code #Windows
Code signing your Windows applications isn’t mandatory, but it’s a good idea if you want to avoid your software being blocked by the OS because it is not recognized, and therefore not trusted. However, you can normally only do this from Windows, which is not ideal if you like to build cross-platform software from your Mac.
ExeWrapper was designed to make your job as a cross-platform developer quite a bit simpler. It allows you to code sign your files using a Windows certificate directly from your Mac, so no more messing around with dual boot or VMs after building.
Not surprisingly, you need your PKCS#12 Windows code signing certificate. After loading it, you can have the app store your certificate password on your macOS keychain, which should speed things up in the future.
Once your certificate is loaded, go ahead and add the files you wish to sign. You can sign as many files as you want in one go, provided you have purchased the app, as the free version can only process up to five items at once.
While the files are being signed, ExeWrapper also displays the certificate’s expiration date, and you can check which of the files have been signed successfully from the log.
After loading the certificate and files, you can save the project to an EXW file. When you open this document again, the certificate and files will be added automatically, and you only need to provide the password.
If you’re a cross-platform developer who prefers working from your Mac, ExeWrapper is an invaluable tool. It enables you to sign Windows software without switching to another OS, and it is designed to make the process as quick and intuitive as possible.
