Data Generator can generate random data to be used when testing your projects. The utility provides support for creating all sorts of data, you get to adjust the output, and the information will be placed on your clipboard with a mouse click.
The Data Generator application resides in your status bar, and you get to see the complete list of data that can be generated by simply opening its panel.
All you have to do is click with your mouse on the type of data you want to generate, and Data Generator will put randomly produced content on your clipboard.
Naturally, the information stored on the pasteboard can be easily pasted into a third party application straight away. For your convenience, Data Generator will remember the latest 11 generated items, and you can put them back to the clipboard by clicking on the appropriate entry in the list.
Via the Data Generator Preferences you do get to adjust the history size (it can go up to 50 items), change the default hotkey for the application window, or opt to make the app window pinnable.
Data Generator can generate headlines, articles, names, animals, credit card numbers, emails, phone numbers, jobs, company names, colors, months, weekdays, dates, timestamps, currencies, country or state names, zip codes, cities, or addresses.
Keep in mind that some of the data types don’t have customization options. However, you do get to set the domain for the headlines, the subject and length of the articles, the gender for the names, the type of animal, the date and time format, the currency prefix or suffix, or if you want the full names or only the abbreviations.
Data Generator comes with a collection of extensive databases featuring names, credit card info, addresses, phone numbers, emails, countries or states names, and so on. All you have to do is navigate the available options and select the data type you need.
For your convenience, Data Generator will put the randomly generated data on your clipboard and logs the event. All you have to do is import the data into your project and use it for testing or as a placeholder.
