SecureZIP For Mac

SecureZIP brings archive encrypting capabilities while also being able to handle basic compression and unarchiving tasks. The utility is able to work with some of the most popular archive formats, such as ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2, 7z, TAR, and so on.

When you launch SecureZIP for the first time on your Mac, the utility becomes the default app for all supported archive formats, and also places entries in the Finder’s contextual menu that enable you to either create or extract archives.

Note that SecureZIP does not come with a main window: whenever you use it to perform a task, the app solely launches a panel where you get to monitor the progress. Moreover, when the assignment is complete, SecureZIP displays confirmation messages or error alerts via the OS X Notification Center.

Via the SecureZIP Preferences window you get to personalize the app’s behavior by specifying the archive formats that should be handled by SecureZIP.

At the same time, you can decide where you want SecureZIP to place the extracted files: in the original archive folder or in a user selected directory. You can also choose to be prompted for the output location in each case.

SecureZIP also enables you to choose the encryption method that should be used for newly created archives: passphrase, recipients list, or both. The encryption algorithm can have different degrees of complexity.

Last but not least, SecureZIP enables you to digitally sign the archives using a certificate of your choice.

SecureZIP brings to the table elementary compression and unarchiving capabilities backed by encryption algorithms that can keep the information safe. In all case, SecureZIP brings an additional protection level to your file transfers.
