vPLAYER For Mac

vPLAYER is capable of loading VST and AU audio plug-ins and offers you the possibility to test their capabilities on the spot. The utility loads a separate new window for each plug-in and gives you the option to save or load custom presets.

vPLAYER comes with a minimalist user interface that enables you to load up to 2 VST or AU plug-ins: you will be able to see the name of the currently selected plug-in in each pane.

The app allows you to scan for MIDI interfaces and select the one you want to use. You get to adjust the volume for each selected plug-in, but also for the input, and you get to decide which of them you want active at any time.

Once you press the associated “View” menu, vPLAYER will launch a new window where you get to interact with the plug-in right away. Note that vPLAYER is able to save your custom presets, and also allows you to load them at a later time.

The vPLAYER Equalizer comes with 5 different filters, and you get to either adjust them with simple drag and drop movements and analyze the effect in real time. In fact, the entire EQ tool can be controlled with mouse movements.

If you want to modify the input and output settings, make sure to navigate to the Settings panel where you can specify which devices should be used, adjust the sampling rate, the I/O or signal vector size, the scheduler in overdrive, or the CPU usage limit. The same area offers support for changing the I/O mapping.

To sum up, vPLAYER proposes a simple solution for experimenting with AU or VST plug-ins without having to install them or deal with your DAW.
