pMix For Mac

Through experimentation you can create interesting sound effects going from old tracks or presets. pMix is a small application that enables you to morph multiple VST plug-in presents in order to make new content.

pMix comes with a colorful, intuitive interface that allows you to combine 4 different VST2 audio plug-in effects. At the same time, the app includes 9 audio FX plug-ins and generators presets which are featuring experimental DSP techniques: frequency shifting, noise generators, Format filtering, FM synthesis and much more.

Each effect is represented by a color and in the left side panel of the pMix window you can view the presets created by you and change their tempo. You will also be able to view them as balls in the iSpace window. Take into account that the balls proximity to the cursor influences the effect amount in the interpolation.

pMix is able to process the input audio in real time and is applying a multi-layered interpolation method. The can play files and record the generated sound or deal with live audio input or instrument plug-ins.

From the pMix Preferences window you can easily adjust the refresh rate, the iSpace area or the snap zone. Moreover, you can change the plug-in routing (serial or parallel), the VST plug-in folder, the input and output audio channels or devices and more.

However, pMix does not provide any kind of documentation so you have to experiment on your own to learn what you can achieve using the application.

All things considered, pMix is a great application that enables you to experiment with different audio plug-ins, create your own presents and compose new sound effects.
