Virtual ANS is a free and cross-platform software emulator of the classic ANS photoelectronic musical instrument created by Russian audio engineer, Evgeny Murzin, between 1938 and 1958. ANS stands for Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin, a famous Russian composer.

Using the Virtual ANS, you will be able to produce unique, deep and unusual sounds. It provides a comprehensive set of tools to help you write a complete track, make complex sonogram modifications or to convert sounds to images.

Virtual ANS gives you total freedom to experiment with sound and is more suitable to users who want to create experimental music.

You will be able to load files in the PNG, VNS, GIF, WAV, ANS and JPEG format and save them as PNG, ANS, WAV and JPEG.

Virtual ANS is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.

What's new in Virtual ANS 2.3:

additional UI language - Russian; you can change it in System Preferences -> Interface;
new drawing modes: * (lighting), / (darkening);
Xor, Add and Sub modes has been renamed to ^, + and -;
new operation in the Selection Mode: Duplicate (CTRL + D);
