TuneAssistant For Mac

TuneAssistant is a very simple Mac OS X iTunes companion application designed to automatically stop or resume the music playback on iTunes when you disconnect / connect your headphones or speakers. Other extra features include sharing the currently playing song on Twitter or Weibo.

When launching TuneAssistant for the first time, you will see its icon on the menu bar. You need to click on it to view its available options. Moreover, the main commands are disabled by default, and you can enable them by clicking the first 2 buttons in the system bar popover.

After buttons are set, TuneAssistant will work seamlessly. You can remove the headphones from your iMac or MacBook without worrying that your music will continue playing. This way, the app spares you from manually pausing iTunes or muting the volume.

TuneAssistant also comes in handy when reconnecting your headphones with your Mac. It will detect that headphones have been inserted and resumes the iTunes playback automatically.

As for the other functions, i.e. sharing on Twitter and Weibo, these can be accessed via the app popup window as well. To share song information, just click their corresponding buttons, after which OS X’s Share Service will open. In addition to this, you can also use a button for closing the app.

To sum up, TuneAssistant is a no-frills and seamless solution to automatically stop / resume iTunes song playback when disconnecting or connecting headphones. It works out-of-the-box and requires almost no effort from your part.
