Song deDuper For Mac

We all like to increase the size of our music collection by adding compilations, soundtracks and entire albums. But as the song library grows so does the number of duplicate songs. Thanks to Song deDuper you no longer have to manually find and remove those space consuming tracks.

Song deDuper is a self-explanatory application that provides the necessary tools and features to search, find and remove duplicates from your music collection with just a few mouse clicks. What is more, Song deDuper comes with a user-oriented interface from which you can quickly and easily find, filter and delete songs.

The top toolbar help you view the three steps you need to follow in order to clean your music library. First you need to define the criteria for the duplicate search and select the playlist you want to clean from the left panel. You can find duplicates by name, artist, album and length by adjusting the time settings and checking the box next to each criteria you want to use in your search.

All found duplicate are gathered in groups of duplicates from where you can manually select the tracks you want to delete in the second step. You can also use the Filter feature in order to tell Song deDuper which song to keep and which to delete. You can keep the songs with the highest or the lowest bit rate, the tracks with the shortest or longest track and delete the newest or oldest added songs.

All duplicate songs are automatically removed from your iTunes library and from your Mac’s hard disk and placed into the Trash directory in the third step. However, you can create an additional playlist containing all duplicate files and delete songs directly from there.
