Parallel For Mac

Parallel is an unobtrusive Mac application that connects with your Spotify client and offers you the possibility to listen to the same tracks as other users in your team.

The Parallel utility is account based, but you don’t have to go through a registration process: just provide a phone number to receive an access code and then input the handle you want to use.

To be able to use the Parallel app, you must make sure that the Spotify music client is also up and running on your Mac. Note that Parallel just controls the tracks you are listening to, while Spotify handles all the heavy lifting.

Within the app’s main window you will be able to see all the users in a team and choose the one you want to follow. Note that below each user name you can see the track that is currently playing in its Spotify client.

By default you get to see the Parallel Pulse, but note that you can easily create your own group, or join an already established team. Parallel offers you the possibility to create or join as many teams as you like.

Worth mentioning is that you can also start playing music on your own, in which case Parallel will broadcast your choices and allow others to listen to music with you. The app also comes with an incognito mode: when activated, your broadcast is hidden from other users.

Other customization options include the possibility to launch the utility on startup or to choose if you want to see notifications or not.

Bottom line, Parallel offers you the possibility to share the tracks you are listening to in your Spotify client or choose to follow other users. Just invite your friends to join your team or join theirs and start listening music together almost instantly.
