MiniPlay For Mac

MiniPlay is a minimalist playback controller designed to work with both iTunes and Spotify music players. The app detects on its own what player is currently working and also displays the artwork for the current track.

In the MiniPlay main window, you can see the name of the current track and the comprising album, the associated album art, and a tracker bar where you get to monitor the playback progress.

MiniPlay includes a volume control slider and buttons for starting or pausing the playback, or for skipping to the next or previous track. Worth mentioning is that, if you close the MiniPlay window, the application quits altogether.

Last but not least, in the top right corner of the controller window the pin button enables you to keep the MiniPlay panel on top of all windows for easy access. If the function is disabled, MiniPlay gets covered by other windows.

In case you don’t have any available screen space for the MiniPlay window, the utility can also be used as a system extension, and placed as a widget in the Today panel of your Notification Center.

The MiniPlay widget retains the same functions as the standalone utility, yet it won’t be in your way at any time. To use it, just activate the Notification Center panel, scroll down to the MiniPlay widget, and go about your business as usual.

To sum up, MiniPlay offers you the possibility to handle your music player in a streamlined manner, without having to bring up the app window. MiniPlay includes essential details about the currently playing track and allows you to perform simple management tasks.

MiniPlay can integrate with your Notification Center and stay completely out of your way when you don’t need it.
