Karaoke Lyrics For Mac

Karaoke Lyrics is a lightweight karaoke solution for the Mac that displays the lyrics to songs playing in iTunes in a very simple interface. The application can be used as both a karaoke machine and a utility to follow the lyrics to your favorite songs.

Keep in mind that Karaoke Lyrics does not come with a lyric database, nor does it automatically download lyrics from the web. Your songs must already contain lyrics in their metadata. Still, you can also manually add them via Karaoke Lyrics.

To do so, simply click on the app’s menu bar panel and select the “Edit Lyrics” option. From the lyric editor, you can enter and modify lyrics accordingly. In addition to this, you can even adjust lyrics if they are not properly in sync with the audio track.

Lyrics are displayed against a white background in a clean and uncluttered user interface. The lyrics are highlighted in red while the song is playing. Moreover, the main window shows the cover art of the playing song, the title, artist, album name and total time.

Karaoke Lyrics also allows you to control the iTunes playback using menu bar buttons to play / pause the current tune and play the next or previous song. This feature eliminates the need to install an additional iTunes mini-controller for the status bar.

On the whole, the application does a good job at emulating a karaoke machine on your Mac. Even though it does not come with built-in lyrics or a feature to download lyrics (due to copyright issues), it allows you to add and sync lyrics plus control iTunes from the the menu bar. Karaoke Lyrics is a recommended choice for users who want an affordable karaoke app.
