Graphic MIDI Mapping For Mac

Initially designed as a sub-module for the bigger audio mixing utility called Tornado A1, Graphic MIDI Mapping is a standalone application that aims to help you with creating custom MIDI maps and with broadcasting MIDI messages between different music studios.

In plain words, Graphic MIDI Mapping helps you to adjust large number of plugin parameters with the help of a single knob on your MIDI controller.

Once installed on your Mac, you will discover that the app comes with six separate input ports that can receive and manage MIDI messages from six different MIDI controller knobs. Considering the fact that for each input slot can have up to 10 outputs, you can easily create any number up to 10 MIDI Maps.

Getting started with this application shouldn’t pose any kind of problems, as you only need to select a MIDI input port for the connected MIDI controller, click the “learn” button and actually turn the MIDI controller’s knob.

By clicking one of the six corresponding Mapping buttons from the right side of the main window, you can access the app’s comprehensive mapping editor. From here onwards, things are quite straightforward: the “Add” button adds new layers and a new MIDI map for the corresponding input, the “Name” button enables you to name the current map, and by pressing “Del”, you can delete maps.

In order to provide the perfect reference representation, Graphic MIDI Mapping also enables you to turn off the reference points, turn off the grid on the screen, and turn the display for the current MIDI map off altogether by simply toggling the three checkboxes from the map representation’s right side.

Taking all things into consideration, Graphic MIDI Mapping is a versatile and useful tool that will feel right at home in music studios that have basic MIDI mappings and should definitely find its way onto any DJ’s Mac.
