DropVox For Mac

Initially developed only for the iOS, DropVox is a minimalist and stylish Mac application developed to help you capture audio notes in no time. Just like the iOS version, the DropVox for Mac utility does not ask for a file name each time you start a new recording, and automatically saves the media to a folder specified by the user.

The DropVox user interface is represented by a small window that contains the button for  starting, pausing (you must double click to pause the capture), and stopping the recording. The same area includes a timer that allows you to see how much time has elapsed since you started the process.

Moreover, the settings drop down menu placed in the top right corner of the main window allows you to change the output folder, or to toggle various functions: Float Window, Play Indicator Sounds, and Record on Launch.

When you stop the recording process, DropVox automatically creates a new file, without requiring your attention, by using a naming pattern: the application’s initials, the date, and the current time.

You can choose to output the recordings to a local folder, or you can save the files in your Dropbox folder: this will grant you access to your audio notes regardless of the device you are using. Keep in mind that DropVox only records the notes, and that you need a third party app to playback their content.

DropVox proposes simple tools designed to streamline the audio notes recording process: the app captures the data, and then outputs the audio files to a location of your choice, using a naming pattern that enables you to quickly differentiate between them.

Moreover, the DropVox application is using the popular MP3 file format, so you should be able to playback the recordings without any processing on most devices.
