Carla For Mac

Carla is a macOS audio plug-in host that comes with a stylish design and provides support for some of the most widespread audio plug-in file formats. The app provides access to various sound banks (GIG, SF2, and SFZ), and offers support for multiple sound engine modes.

Thanks to its well-organized user interface, finding your way around Carla is quite straightforward: you have the possibility to browse your disk for audio files, and quickly load and configure audio plug-ins in the canvas area.

By default, Carla comes with a dark interface theme, but you can quickly switch to the system color palette via the app’s Preferences window. The same area enables you to customize the canvas appearance, change the default library paths, or adjust details related to the sound engine.

Moreover, Carla offers you the possibility to browse the collection of installed audio plug-ins and quickly load any of them to your engine. For your convenience, Carla comes with a simple search tool for the plug-ins library, but also allows you to apply specific filters.

Carla is able to load various audio plug-in formats, such as AU, LV2, VST2, VST3, DSSI, or LADSPA. It comes with native audio drivers: ASIO, JACK, CoreAudio, DirectSound, or ALSA.

To render the audio effects, Carla uses the Rack and Patchbay engine modes and integrates single and multi-client support if you are using the JACK audio driver.

Worth mentioning is that Carla incorporates a MIDI file player, features full OSC control, and can automatically deal with plug-in parameters.

Carla offers you the possibility to work with different audio plug-ins installed on your system via a well-organized and sleek user interface.

Within the canvas area, you get to combine the output and input sources any way you like and use the built-in player to preview the effects.
